CONGRATS!!! Fugee affiliate John Forte is reportedly one of 16 people who have received a reduced sentence or a pardon from US President George Bush!!! He was sentenced to 14 years in prison after being caught with two briefcases filled with $1.4 million worth of liquid cocaine at Newark International Airport in 2000 and has been locked up since. Forte wrote, produced and appeared on The Fugee’s multi-platinum and Grammy-winning 1996 album, The Score. He also released two solo albums, Poly Sci and I, John. Forte was released from jail today and will face five years of supervised probation. Senator Orrin Hatch, singer Carly Simon and her son James, were among the people who advocated for Forte’s release.
