A.Raab Muzik: What's goin’ onz…Right now I’m just workin’ on a lot of muzik and different artist you know? Grindin’ gettin placements on albums an all that nam sayin..
CHAMP: Now I wanna get the origin of the name ARAAB MUZIK , 'cause people might think you're Arab but you actually Hispanic.
A.Raab Muzik: The way I Got the name ARAAB was back in 02…My nigga had gave me that name ‘cause I didn’t have an alias or nothing like that nam sayin so I ran with it. In 05 I added the MUZIK ‘cause that's what you're listening to when you hear my muzik Araab Muzik
CHAMP: Now you're 19, so I'm interested in hearing on some your musical influences growing up.
A.Raab Muzik: My influences growing up were pretty much based on the producers. I didn't really listen to the artist ‘cause that wasn't my thing. If the beat caught my attention then I would like the song nam sayin. The beat is pretty much what everyone listens to first then the artist.
CHAMP: You're actually an official Dipset producer. How'd that happen?
A.Raab Muzik: The way i got connected with the DIPS was by sendin’ Duke Da God beats to his email which was in Oct 06. I had left my contact info to see if he'll get back at me and he did. The following week I met up with Duke and we vibed, and it was a wrap from there nam sayin.
CHAMP: You're on Hell Rell's Black Mask Black Gloves Joint and produced some heat especially the intro. That tracks actually playin' as we speak. The track's dope and you go hard with the beats (no homo). When did you develop your craft and sound that people identify as an ARAABMUZIK beat?
A.Raab Muzik: Yeah my beats are always hard an got that gutta feel to it… I developed my sound in 03.. I been producing for nine years now, but of course I've got better over the years.
CHAMP: Did you catch Hell Rell's reaction when he heard your beat?
A.Raab Muzik: Yeah we were at the studio when I played him the beat for the intro to his tape. I know when he likes a beat off the rip ‘cause of the way he reacts to the beat, so immediately I knew it was a done deal n shit.
CHAMP: You being with the set and all. How are you taking the departure of Hell Rell?
A.Raab Muzik: At the end of the day its always gonna be Dipset nam sayin. Everybody’s doin’ their own thing an gettin’ there's so you know he's doin what he gotta do nam sayin.
CHAMP: What other joints did you produce for the set in case the people aren’t aware?
A.Raab Muzik: Maaan I did a whole bunch of shit... I produced the intro to the More Than Music Vol.2 , intro to Hell Rells album. Also the track I’m The Shit, Respect Me, Ruger 4 life, the single, Get ready, Rumors, Think of a Problem, Cams new song I Came For You and much more.
CHAMP: Any artists outside the set you worked with?
A.Raab Muzik: Right now I’m working with Jadakiss. Hopefully I place a track on his new album. Im gettin’ connected with a lot of other artist such as G-unit, Cassidy, Swizz Beatz and more. I get all the connections myself. I’m my own boss. I’m makin’ my own moves right now nam sayin. I’m not depending on nobody to do shit for me ‘cause everybody's worried about themselves right now
CHAMP: Now when A.Raabs chefin' up a beat what tools do you be using in the studio?
A.Raab Muzik: The tools I use to make all the madness is the MPC 2500 LE ( which they only made 500 in the world ). The triton extreme and the Fantom G7
CHAMP: Now you actually graduated this year from school. Congratulations. One thing I found bananas is that you had the Dipset logo on the back of your gown. Now mom dukes be always trippin' on things like that. What was your moms reaction when she saw that?
A.Raab Muzik: Yeah that was something I had planned to put on my gown since day 1. My mom really didn't say nothing ‘cause shes used to things like that by now nam sayin. But clearly it was something fly and unexpected.
CHAMP: Duke actually came to your graduation. How'd that feel and how's your relationship with homey?
A.Raab Muzik: Oh yeah you already know it felt good for someone like him to take time and be a part of his niggas graduation nam sayin. That’s when you know you really doing big things. My relationship with homey is like fam nam sayin. We muzik lovers so you know we go in 110% all the time no days off
CHAMP: Now every producer has a wish list of who they wanna work with. What would be the top 5 on your list that you wanna work with?
A.Raab Muzik: My top 5 artist right now at this moment are Lil Wayne, Swizz, G-unit, Jeezy, and whoever else but I don’t need a wish list ‘cause I know I can work with them regardless
CHAMP: Now a lot of people have negative things to say about the use of sampling. What's your view on it?
A.Raab Muzik: Yeah people always have negative things to say about takin’ sampling ‘cause either they don't know how to sample sumthin’ an flip it or they can't make hot original shit. Everybody in the industry samples either they like to or not. Nothing original these days pretty much.
CHAMP: What else can we expect from ARAABMUZIK in the future?
A.Raab Muzik: You can expect a lot of big things like new deals an new artist over some ARAABMUZIK.
